About Us
At 2Rivers Counselling Collective, our journey began with a shared vision from our founding members - Ruth Rayner, Eve Wigington, and Katie Stone. Whilst undertaking our counselling training together, we discovered that we all had a passion for our work, shared values, mutual respect, and a desire to continue working and supporting one another. Upon qualification, we were determined to create something meaningful together, continue our collaboration, and make a difference in our local communities. 2Rivers Counselling Collective was the result.
Our collective serves a broad area, including Harwich, Colchester, Manningtree, and Ipswich, following the picturesque shores of the Rivers Orwell and Stour. The natural beauty of our environment and the welcoming spirit of our communities inspired our name: 2Rivers Counselling Collective.
By working as a collective, we maintain our unique identities as individual counsellors while benefiting from the strength of our partnership. This collaboration allows us to share best practices, support each other, and provide our clients the highest standards of care.
Our Approach
We specialise in Integrative Counselling, a form of therapy that draws on various theoretical approaches and techniques, allowing us to tailor our approach for each client. As integrative counsellors, we utilise and integrate several established models of therapy which are seamlessly integrated into sessions according to our understanding of each client's needs.
Our Values
We are committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality. We understand that seeking counselling is a vulnerable and courageous act, and we aim to provide high-quality services to support and help you navigate your emotional well-being. We are all registered British Association for Counselling Professionals (BACP) members and practice to the highest ethical standards. We are subject to the BACP Ethical Framework and follow their safeguarding, confidentiality, and ethics guidelines, to name but a few areas.
Our Fees
Therapy prices will vary between practitioners and range between £40 - £50 per 50- 60 minute session for individuals and £55 - £75 per 50- 60 minute couples’ session. Please ask your individual therapist for their scale of charges. *
* All our counsellors believe that everybody should be able to benefit from counselling when needed, and all have committed to offering a limited number of low-cost counselling sessions for those in need. The number of spaces available for low-cost counselling is at the discretion of individual counsellors and, therefore, subject to availability. Please talk to us at the earliest opportunity about low-cost counselling if you feel this might suit you.
